The story ends with the successful capture of the killer. however, the sister gets away with the money (future story?).

Let’s say the Overall Story Concern is Obtaining. Bill tries to obtain evidence, Everybody else is concerned with obtaining money.

Issue helps select a filter through which the author can control the shading of the events that unfold. In this story, the overall story issue is Self-Interest vs. Morality. Everyone is trying to get theirs and they have different moral problems.

What is the source of the central problem that affects all your characters in the story? Temptation is the Source of everybody’s problems.

Our Main Character is a FULLY archetypal main character. Then the crucial element would be one of the MC’s eight elements (pursue, consider, actuality, knowledge, proven, effect, certainty, or proaction)?? I think for a detective this is reasonable.
